Solar Maintenance Malaysia

A rooftop solar PV system is not maintenance-free. Dust, leaves, bird droppings, loose terminations and inverter alerts all affect generation. Inhome Solar offers operations and maintenance after installation.

Service overview

Maintenance is the after-sales service described on the homepage: inspections, warranty-related support as applicable to the package, and work to keep the system running.

It is a different intent from buying a new installation. This page is for owners who already have, or will have, a system that needs looking after.

Who this is for

  • Inhome Solar customers after handover.
  • Site owners who want a scheduled inspection rather than waiting for a fault.

What it can help with

  • Catch soiling and faults before they quietly cut generation.
  • Keep monitoring logins and inverter status in view.
  • A local branch network for site access in several Peninsular states.

Process

Visual and electrical checks

Modules, mounting, isolators, earthing and inverter status.

Cleaning where needed

Tropical dust and organic debris reduce output. Cleaning method depends on roof safety and module type.

Reporting

Findings and any recommended repairs. Manufacturer warranty claims follow the equipment documents.

Equipment and system notes

Inverters in quotations may include Huawei, GoodWe and other listed brands; service steps differ by model.

Do not walk on modules. Roof work should be done by people with safe access.

Common questions

How much maintenance do solar panels need?

Rooftop systems need periodic inspection, cleaning where soiling is heavy, and checks on inverters, cabling and monitoring. Inhome Solar provides operations and maintenance support after installation. Frequency depends on the site and the package selected.

How long do solar panels last?

Photovoltaic modules are typically designed for decades of operation, with manufacturer performance warranties stated in the equipment documents provided at handover. Output declines gradually. Inverters and mounting hardware have their own service lives.

Do solar panels work during cloudy weather?

Yes. Panels generate from daylight, not only direct sun. Output is lower on overcast days. Malaysia’s tropical climate still produces useful annual generation, but month-to-month figures vary.

Do I need a battery?

A battery is optional. Many on-grid Solar ATAP systems operate without storage and rely on self-consumption plus export credits. Storage can shift energy into the evening but adds cost and design complexity. It is a site-specific decision.
